Natural Make Up Removers

Using natural make up removers is not only better for your skin, it helps keep your beauty budget under control. I love trying new products but I limit the amount of money I spend each month on beauty products. I would much rather spend my beauty budget on a new eye shadow palette than a bottle of make up remover.

Natural Make Up Removers

It's very important to remove your make up each night before bed.  Leaving your make up on your face will result in clogged pores, blackheads and acne.  While using cold cream is popular to remove make up, I find that it bothers my skin.   Using these natural make up removers is gentler on my skin.
  • If you are trying to remove eye make up like mascara and eye liner, one of the best natural make up removers that I have found is olive oil.  Just dab a bit of olive oil on a cotton ball, rub it in a little and then rinse it off. No need to waste your money on extra virgin olive oil, standard grade olive oil works fine for this.
  • If you have a baby or toddler in your home, baby wipes work wonderfully to remove your make up.  Just use one to wipe off your make up like you would a wash cloth.  They are very gentle and do a wonderful job removing make up. They also tend to leave your skin feeling very soft when you are done.
  • Baby shampoo or baby oil will both work to remove eye make up. Just dab some on a cotton ball and remove gently.
  • Most make up can be removed by simply using your traditional face cleanser and warm water. Unless you are using water proof products, you may not need to purchase something just to remove your make up.
What natural make up removers do you use on your skin? Do you purchase something made to remove your make up or make your own?

  1. I'm so lazy about taking off my makeup at night....but when I do, I use my facial cleanser. Never knew about the olive oil. That's a good tip!

  2. Olive oil is great as a makeup remover! I tend to use it after wearing my contacts for a long time, because my normal makeup remover can be a bit irritating. It's also great if you're somewhere and forgot your makeup remover, or need some in a pinch.

  3. I've tried baby oil before, it works great with some warm water and a wash cloth, but I'll have to try baby shampoo, it might be easier to rinse!
